"I think this is type 99(or ZTZ-99, 2001) not Type 99A(ZTZ-99A, 2007)
Firstly, as the female voice at 4:20 said( I don't know what other tank you're talking about, but if that's another Chinese tank...), that is one of the most easily identifiable feature, the ERA block arranging differently on Type 99 and Type 99A, the blocky one would be the Type 99A, also, the type 99A turret don't have that dom shape on top.
secondly, the back of the hull on type 99A is a 90 degree angle, much like the turret, the Type 99A design overall are much sharper then Type 96 or 9910(Type 98).
Finally, the road wheel on type 99A are much closer to each other than that of type 99.
Of course, there are various other difference between those two tanks...."
Just got my 99a 3weeks ago and she now looks completely different I'm modelling it on the 99a2
there's a maget on top of the turret somewhere for you to magnet that IR receiver, It doesn't work well during noon or when the sun light is the strongest, too much interference of IR from the sun, and I heard if you are turning your turret it won't receive IR shots from other tank, so your retaliation is not interfere, or should I say the feature allows you to have a chance to fight back
