When Dave Boldt first began this airshow, it was always a pretty laid back deal and mostly his local friends. But others kept coming and from larger distances, so it is a tradition. Dave became known as the flying farmer around this area, so hence the name of the fun fly which actually became a show and it was called the Flying Farmers Fun Fly. I've first came here in 2021 over 10 years ago and even made a video. See link below. Well sadly Dave died a few years back, but Adam Henning, also an advanced RC pilot, purchased his house and the flying field and promised Dave's Family that he would hold up the tradition. That is commendable and I must say that Adam has now built new flight line guards, he mows, he sprays for bugs, he flattens, and does a lot to maintain this nice flying site.
So while I was helping our members get ready last night, I decided to give my 40 year old Byron F-16 a try on the fresh mow. This was before Adam began his roller derby to flatten the land. So Since I am going to fly it on Sat and Sun, with people there, I wanted to make sure my Electric Conversion would tolerate the grass. That is because I have only flown it on the Cement Runway at the airport in the past 4 years. You see, it has to get up enough speed, before the controls work, as there is no air being blown over the control surfaces because the air is all coming out the tail which is true with all jets. So this was a quick test to see if it will work.
Thanks for watching and God bless.

Dave
been watching you for years and you have given me the inspiration to take up
the hobby again i have now been flying rc again for 8 yrs. you have introduced
many to this fantastic hobby well done you are an inspiration to others
We need more people like Dave and Adam in this crazy world we live in. If I
lived closer than Ohio, I would be there! Thanks Dave, Happy Flying
Nice job taking off and landing on the grass I always like to use the largest
diameter wheels possible when flying off a grass runway
Man I just love the way that thing sounds! It¡¯s almost like a real turbine. It
looked like it took off nicely but needed a little more distance than usual but
that¡¯s understandable. Maybe Adam could build an actual runway out there some
day? Have fun this weekend and I can¡¯t wait for the video! Semper Fi.

You my good sir are a master RC pilot yourself in my humble opinion as that take
off and landing where spot on,greased in like the pro you are.
Nice to see the F-16 fly again Dave. Nice flying field. Like that big roller he
was using to smooth out the ruts.
"Hi Dave,
I think Farmer Dave is looking down and smiling. Never tire of the sound of the
JP Hobby EDF unit. Glad it has held up well. You and Ilea stay safe."
"Wonderful job on the flight Dave I believe the Byron F-16 jet are made to fly

"Yep, I could bring my brand new 'SpaceX Super Heavy Booster' but, on second
