Alienware m17 R4 Review (Buy Computers & PC & Tablets & Networking & Laptops & Netbooks Online)

Lisa Gade reviews the early-mid 2021 refresh of the Alienware M17 R4 17.3¡± slim gaming laptop with NVIDIA RTX 3060, 3070 and 3080 16GB max mobile wattage GPUs and Intel 8-core i7 and i9 CPU options with vapor chamber cooling. We test the i7 with RTX 3070. There¡¯s a new 360Hz full HD G-Sync display option (our unit) in addition to the existing 144Hz full HD and 4K wide gamut displays. The laptop is available with per key and zone AlienFX backlit RGB keyboards and there¡¯s a new Cherry MX mechanical keyboard option. For those who prefer a smaller size, there¡¯s the similarly spec-d Alienware m15 R4 with higher thermals. In this review we focus on gaming temperatures and fps, internals, benchmarks and the new 360Hz display quality. We did not enable Alienware¡¯s new TCC thermal offset for our tests.
