B-52 bomber, nicknamed "stratospheric fortress", is an eight engine long-range strategic bomber of the United States. It was put into use in 1955. It is the only one of the US strategic bombers that can launch cruise missiles. It is still the main force of the US Air Force's strategic bombing. Its latest b-52h1961 equipped troops, a total of 102.


In September 2018, the U.S. Air Force announced that it would upgrade and transform the b-52h strategic bomber, and planned to keep the aircraft in service until 2050. The B-52 will carry hypersonic weapons, undertake the important task of defense zone attack, and become the "first generation hypersonic Strike Weapon Combat Platform" of the US Army.
