The following is a new version of the Japanese air force's No. 079 fighter,
which was released by the air force
The MiG-15 fighter plane made by the Soviet Union was piloted by Wang Hai, a
special meritorious official of the Chinese people's Volunteer Army, a
first-class combat hero and later commander of the air force. The nine red stars
on the fuselage record Wang Hai's achievements and also the pride and glory of
China's young air force. On April 25, 1951, Wang Hai, as the leader of the 1st
Brigade of the 9th regiment of the 3rd air force division, was ordered to be
incorporated into the Air Force combat sequence of the volunteer army and began
to carry out combat tasks. At about 2:00 p.m. on November 18, the 9th regiment
of the volunteer air force and the Soviet air force met the US air force over
Suchuan, North Korea. Wang Hai brigade ended the battle at 5:0, and Wang Hai
himself shot down two enemy planes. On December 15, Wang Hai brigade again
confronted the U.S. Air Force and scored an amazing result of 6:1 with a 4-to-12
disadvantage. During the whole war of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding
Korea, Wang Hai brigade participated in more than 80 air battles, shooting down
29 wounded enemy planes, setting the highest record for annihilating the enemy
by the air force brigade of the volunteer army. Wang Hai, the captain of the
brigade, shot down 9 wounded planes, won the honor of special merit and
first-class merit respectively, and was awarded the title of "first-class
fighting hero of the volunteer army". The Democratic People's Republic of Korea
awarded him a second-class national flag medal and a military meritorious medal.
